Some More Visiting with the Comeaus

We met James and Sabrina for dinner at BJ's and it was delicious.

We also celebrated Kate's birthday, just a little early. Andrea made the best cupcakes!!

4 Generations

We went to Hillcrest Park and just had a blast. The weather was pretty cool most of the time they were here. But this was a perfect park day. Brooke just loved the tire swing and Kate loved crawling through and standing up in the mesh tunnel.

Thanks so much for coming. We loved having you visit us in California and hope you come again soon.

Comeaus Visit to California

We had such a great visit with Andrea, Jeremy, Brooke and Kate. Brooke and Kate made stepping stones for our garden. Brooke was not to excited to put her hand in the cement but we had a great time decorating. Kate loved getting her hands and feet into the cement

We had a great tea party. We had strawberries, watermelon. cookies and best of all was the yummy raspberry lemonade.

And we loved the gymnastics by Brooke

First Annual YC Stake Fun Run (walk)

This morning I rode my trusty Huffy down to Mosquito Beach - roughly 1/2 mile south of the YC boat ramp on the Feather River - to join with some others to initiate what sounds like will be an annual event. It was the 5K/10K Fun Run/Walk. The photos below are of the group of youth and adults "packing in" for the start. I was a tad late starting because I was on a little hill taking pictures when they said go . . . but clocked my 5K in just under 38 minutes. Not bad for a chubby cubby who doesn't do this much. See if you can pick anyone out of the crowd.In this photo we have Dallin Knudson in the white shirt in front, President McAlister in the gray shirt just to the right of him, Brian Henry in the white shirt in the back, with Bishop Knudson in the yellow shirt by the gate and President Stubblefield coming under the gate.

Dr. Hall

I don't know where the time goes, but it is obviously not going into this blog. Perhaps it is going into our corn . . . which seems to be growing about a foot a day! We should have taken pictures.

But we did take pictures of a very special day about a month ago when James graduated from UOP as a doctor of pharmacy. The Comeaus of Indiana had just flown in and we began with a feast at the homestead in Elk Grove. Here is James with his mom.

And with his big sister . . . the only one he's got.

There were others there too, like Grandma Hall (in the background) and KLC on her grandpa's lap. She took to him like Ty to water as soon as they got off the plane.

The video below shows the actual awarding of the diploma, so here he is filing out with the others.

Once outside they provided a really nice reception area for photos, complete with food and water - it was hot that day.

Here's the great event. If we had thought, we could have sat where we could actually see him get his diploma, but you get the idea anyway. He's the one who walks across the stage after his name is called.

What a great day for both James and Sabrina. We are so very pleased they are part of our family.

Biking in the Snow

I know I have not kept up on my blogging. I haven't even gotten through 1/2 of the stuff we did in MA with Tyler & Co. - then we have Dr. James' graduation - and the visit from the IN Crowd. But I just had to let you know that crazy as it seems, I went mountain biking with Bill Lewis yesterday and it snowed! The first picture is of me at the point of departure, Alpha & Omega (that point on Hwy 20 just before you get to Bear Valley where there is a rest stop). It was not snowing like this when we left, but we soon ran into it and it got rather interesting at times.

From Alpha & Omega we rode down to Skillman Flats and then on to White Cloud where this next photo was taken. We had stopped to catch our breath and because the snow was getting pretty thick (like us). But we began to chill so we took off again and soon had to stop because we couldn't see the trail.
But in reality, it did not snow much, just intensely in places. There was quite a bit of mud though, in places, and I took the opportunity to biff it in one of those places. Slight knee bruise only. Otherwise, it was a great ride with fantastic views and good company. Long before we reached our destination, however, I felt the effects of doing at 4500-5000 feet above sea level what is more natural for me down here at 50.
