The Christmas Quilt

I must admit I got some pretty great Christmas presents.  One of the best was this really cool quilt, inspired by one that we saw in the Bourne household.  Basically my sweetheart took all of my favorite T-shirts, cut them up, and made them into a quilt.  I think they will last longer this way. =D  Anyway, here are some photos of the finished product.  By the way, the backing is pretty cool in its own right.

Have you seen the Buttes?

Yesterday Uncle Peter & I rode our bikes around Marysville.  We went about 15 miles in an hour and a half, just riding and talking, stopping to take photos from time to time.  It was a nice experience, but I didn't get any pictures.  However, Mom & I go riding on the Tierra Buena - Sutter Bike Path a couple of times a week and today I finally remembered to get a photo of the Buttes reflected in a flooded rice paddy.  As you can see, the lack of rain has limited the amount of water available for the geese and ducks.  But the water is perfectly still and makes a good mirror.  And of course the Buttes are always a good sight.

And so it begins

At the very end of last year we finally began the project of the year.  But it appears it will be this year, not last year.  We ordered the double sink vanity to replace the one in the big bathroom.  It should be installed in February.  We have also had the architect in to look at the possibility of moving the kitchen wall, and should hear something back from him this week.  We also have been looking at replacement fireplaces and will continue this Thursday.  But in the meantime we have chosen the replacement facing and last Friday Peter O. & I started demolition.  Here are some of the photos from that first day on the job.
