The Anomalous Autumnal August

Alliterations aside . . . . today is a beautiful day in Yuba City. When I got up at 6:00 to ride my bike it was overcast with the wind out of the south. I flew up the levee to the north end of the pavement and then fought it all the way back to Shanghai Bend where I began. Then I worked in the yard all morning removing the last vestiges of our garden, trimming back our neighbor's pomegranate tree, and shaping up the lawn. And I wore my flannel shirt the whole time. Wonderful. Of course I was all done by 11:00 so I could do the wash and get my lesson ready for tomorrow (which I should be doing now). For lunch I had bacon pancakes - yummmmm. You cook the bacon and then put them inside the pancakes while you cook them. (batter - bacon - batter) Very tasty. I was talking to M while making this culinary delight and she indicated that her mother needs to come home and get me under control. No doubt. Sorry no pics, the camera is in AZ where little ME made her debut this last Thursday afternoon. Her brother went to see her and it looks like they will be getting along fine.

We're waiting, we're waiting

We had a great day on Thursday while we were waiting to hear about the new baby. Tyler played quite awhile out in their backyard with his dump truck and tractor. Then we decided to check out the Safari Park not far from their house. There is a big community pool there and a really fun playground. Tyler found some friends to play with there and loved going down the big slide. Just past there is a really fun walk with bronze animals nestled along the side of the walk. I do try and get a picture of this little boy's face but he is much to fast for me.
Fortunately for us, it was only 80 degrees with cloudy skies so the animals were not hot. We headed back home after our walk and played outside again. It was such a nice day to be outside. Almost every evening since I have been here the skies have gotten cloudy and there has been thunder and lightening and some good rain.
At last we got the call and off we went to visit our beautiful new baby. Madison is just a perfect little baby. It was so great to be with the Hogges on this special day. There is nothing like a new baby. Tyler was so excited to hold his new little sister and was quick to remind Grandma that Mom needed a turn to hold the baby.

Welcome to little Madison Elaine.

Oh What Do You Do in the Summer Time?

You just can't beat playing in the water and the dirt. Tyler loves playing in the back yard.
The only drawback are these little tiny gnats that fly right in your face and land there. Today they were really bugging Tyler so he decided to go into the house and get the fly swatter. That little boy is always thinking.
