Food, Glorious Food

It seems that everyone is blogging about food, so I thought I'd get in my 2 bits worth. Here are some pics of my delicious corn muffins. Take my word for it, they are great! I was going to share the recipe, but I can't locate it just now. Stay tuned.
And moving right along from corn to chocolate, here are the heart-shaped brownies we made for our Valentines Day dinner last Sunday. We had Uncle Peter & mom over for waffles, etc. and made the brownies for fun - which they were. A good time was had by all.

Movin' On

Well, it's been awhile, hasn't it? In the meantime, I was released from my calling in the Stake YM presidency and called to be . . . . . . . . . . the ward YM President. I am really enjoying it, particularly the one on one association with the Priests. For those who know at least the families, the four include Josh Tafua, Devin Hungrige, Zach Nelson, & Michael Luke. They are all great young men, and all working on their Duty to God. In addition, Devin is pressing forward with faith toward his Eagle award, Josh is already 18 but finishing off HS with a bang in the lead role in Bye Bye Birdie, and Michael is excited to do all the outdoors activities. And Zach. Well, he got written up in the Sacramento Bee today for a game he played in last week. I don't know where they got that photo, it is about as unlike him as it could be. He really is a nice guy, and obviously a hard worker. You just may hear more of him in the years to come.

Oh yes, just for fun: the bishop (D. Grimes), the YM 1st counselor (N. Tafua), & I all went to Brazil on our missions - and the 2nd counselor (B. Popovich) is California Portuguese. We got fun.

Tractor Pants

When we visited ID last I was introduced to the concept of fleece pants. Now there's a concept I can really get into. So for Christmas I got a really nice pair of furry brown pants. Then my sweetheart made me another pair - with tractors! And made TVH a matching pair. I can't wait to get together with him and the tractors.

Saramarie's Visit

Saramarie came to visit this past weekend for the wedding of a former roommate. It was so fun to have her around; she's still our sunshine Sara. Here are some photos of the gang.
And the old folks at home. (Notice the cool wall hanging sitting on the mantel on the left.)
We did lots of fun things, including watching some short films. Here's one that Saramarie introduced us to:

Christmas Leftovers

Now that things are really starting to heat up for 2010, I thought I'd finally post some of the Christmas photos we took:
The house looked really good - thanks to Antie M.

And this is what we woke up to Christmas morning (and none too early).

This is one of the presents we got each other for our anniversary.

I don't know if you can actually have too much chocolate - but you can see it from here. Fortunately most of this went out the door to better homes.
